We've been growing this softneck or "artichoke" garlic for many years. It came to us from a grower in New York and may have been called Polish White at the time. In our soils, the coloring has changed to show a definite tint of purplish-red on the outer skins. Very hardy and prolific. Expect 6-10 large fat cloves, tan blushed with purplish-red. No small inner cloves like most softneck varieties. Easy peeling and very long storage; we’ve enjoyed these as late as July! Good flavor, though milder than the porcelain varieties. Approx. 60 cloves per lb. Tested free of garlic bloat nematode, white mold, and Botrytis. Organic. Fall Ship 2024.
