A specialty variety released in 2015 from the Maine Breeding Program. An interesting skin color pattern of red and yellow inspired the “pinto” name. This fingerling type produces spuds with dark yellow flesh in a range of sizes. If the colors don’t entice you, the taste of these beauties will. Exceptional culinary qualities make this high-yielding potato ideal for roasting, steaming, or frying. These tubers tend to set far from the plant, so make a large hill, or try planting in a grow bag or tower.
